SEZAD has granted Duqm Beach Touristic Resort a plot of land for the development of a beach resort

The Special Economic Zone Authority in Duqm (Sezad) has granted Duqm Beach Touristic Resort a plot of land in the special zone for the development of a mixed-use project, consisting of a five-star and four-star beach resort, an entertainment and recreation centre, residential dwellings, international school, and commercial space for a shopping centre and offices.

The project will be constructed on a 45-hectare site with a total investment of over US$500 mn.  Duqm Beach Touristic Resort is an investment venture between Australian company Xsite Group, and Al Jazeera International.

The first phase of the project will be devoted to the establishment of infrastructure for development, tourism, and other commercial activities, along with residential units that will be constructed to meet the existing demand for affordable housing in Duqm. The execution of the first phase of the project is expected to commence in the last quarter of this year. The project is expected to be completed in five years and provide 1,000 jobs by 2020.
